What's Unhealthy

"Fear of failure can and will lead to negative emotions. The project rescue manager needs to be attentive to signs of the following in the project culture. With support from the executive sponsor, the rescue manager must ensure that the following do not lead to negative actions:
  • Negative emotions
  • Allocation of blame
  • Desparation
  • Team politics consuming energy
  • Time spent trying to escape blame
  • An 'I told you so' attitude on the part of team members
  • Desire for the project to fail
  • Reemergence of the problems that led to the project rescue."

The above is an excerpt from a book written by Sanjiv Purba and Joseph Zucchero, published by McGraw-Hill/Osborne, 2100 Powell Street, 10th Floor, Emeryville, California 94608 U.S.A. Sanjiv has over 20 years of experience managing large projects and many years engaged in rescuing ailing projects.
