Information Security Management is becoming a key component in today’s business world. Information security no longer pertains only to IT; it is a matter of concern for the entire enterprise. Securing and protecting information is a key survival strategy for any business today; just look at the endless stories in the media about confidential information, often customer data, being compromised, either by hackers who bypass security controls and steal large amounts of confidential data, or by employees who don't pay enough attention to protecting the sensitive data in their possession (on mobile devices, laptops or home computers) and this sensitive information ends up in the wrong hands.
This program introduces a broad range of information and knowledge in Information Security and Risk Management. For students who are in management in IT or business, this program will provide essential and timely information for them to better manage their respective enterprises and make business decisions based on a more comprehensive sets of risk parameters and cyber security threats. Students will gain a broad level of understanding of information security, risk management, governance and compliance, risk assessment, risk acceptance, and current information security risks.
This program also provides the knowledge and information for student to prepare for information security professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA and CRISC.
